Descripció Fan entre 3-20 cm de llargària. Tenen forma de rombe. Aletes típiques perciformes. Són semitransparents o transparents.
Distribució geogràfica Es troba des del Pakistan i l'Índia fins a Indonèsia, Nova Guinea i Austràlia.
