Biografia Nato in New Jersey nel 1972, Gary A. Rizzo ha frequentato la Full Sail University di Winter Park. Successivamente, ha iniziato a lavorare per la Skywalker Sound, azienda specializzata in effetti sonori, facente parte della Lucasfilm. Nel 2011 ha vinto il suo primo Premio Oscar al miglior montaggio sonoro per il suo lavoro al film Inception di Christopher Nolan. Nel 2018 ha vinto per la seconda volta il premio, questa volta per Dunkirk. Nel 2024, per il suo lavoro al sonoro del documentario The Beach Boys, ha ricevuto Premio Emmy per il miglior montaggio audio per un programma non-fiction.
