Le gare di canottaggio ai Giochi della III Olimpiade si svolsero nel campo di regata del Creve Coeur Lake, Maryland Heights, il 29 e 30 luglio 1904.
Furono disputate in totale 12 gare, ma solo 5 di queste vennero riconosciute ufficialmente ed assegnarono medaglie. In totale parteciparono solamente 44 canottieri, tutti provenienti dagli ad eccezione dell'imbarcazione canadese che gareggiò nell'otto.
Gli Stati Uniti vinsero 13 delle 14 medaglie in palio.
