Biografia Durante la seconda metà degli anni 1960, Norman Greenbaum entrò nei Dr. West's Medicine Show and Junk Band, la cui psichedelia si rifaceva alle jug band. Il loro singolo The Eggplant That Ate Chicago (1967) verrà riedito nella compilation di novelty Dr. Demento Presents the Greatest Novelty Records of All Time Volume III: The 1960s (1985).

Attenendosi allo stile dei Dr. West's Medicine Show and Junk Band, Greenbaum pubblicò il primo album solista Spirit in the Sky (1969).
