Tytułu w klasyfikacji kierowców zdobył Duńczyk Kevin Magnussen, a wśród zespołów – francuska ekipa DAMS.

Kalendarz wyścigów Kalendarz na sezon 2013 został zatwierdzony 20 października 2012 roku. Ponownie składał się on z dziewięciu eliminacji, w tym pojedynczej na torze Monte Carlo, gdzie seria towarzyszyła Formule 1. Po raz pierwszy kierowcy ścigali się w Austrii, na torze Red Bull Ring. W porównaniu do poprzedniego sezonu, nie odbyły się wyścigi na torach Nürburgring i Silverstone, a do kalendarza po rocznej przerwie wrócił włoski tor Monza. Zmiany Zespoły Początkowo na wstępnej liście na sezon 2013 pojawiło się tylko 12 zespołów, w tym zastępująca rosyjski Team RFR hiszpańska stajnia byłego kierowcy wyścigowego Adriána Vallésa – AV Formula. Na liście rezerwowej znalazły się dwa zespoły: włoski Zeta Corse (znany wcześniej jako BVM-Target) oraz rosyjski MT Motorsport. Ostatecznie jednak właśnie Zeta Corse został dołączony do stawki. Brytyjski zespół Strakka Racing, znany jak do tej pory ze startów w serii Le Mans, poszerzył swój program o bolidy jednomiejscowe przejmując P1 Motorsport. Tym samym zmianie uległa nazwa zespołu: P1 by Strakka Racing.
