Gus Green Van Sant, Jr., nado en Louisville (Kentucky) o 24 de xullo de 1952 é un director de cine, guionista, pintor, fotógrafo, músico e autor estadounidense. Foi nomeado dúas veces ó Óscar ó mellor director, a primeira por Good Will Hunting (1997) e a segunda por Milk (2008), os cales foron nomeados tamén ó Óscar ó mellor filme. Gañou unha Palma de Ouro no Festival Internacional de Cine de Cannes polo filme Elephant (2003).
