Ime Prema Bihrmannu ime roda dolazi od latinskog/glagolskog korijena povezanog s mirisom, “mirisati”; dakle ime roda upućuje na mirisne ili smolaste izlučevine biljke. Nastalo je od grčkog ozein — “mirisati” Ozoroa dispar, pristupljeno 6. lipnja 2026.
Opis Ozoroa Delile je rod biljaka iz porodice Anacardiaceae, rasprostranjen uglavnom u tropskoj Africi. Obuhvaća stabla, grmove, polugrmove i trajnice s mliječnim lateksom. Listovi su jednostavni, često dlakavi, izmjenični, nasuprotni ili pršljenasti, s brojnim gotovo paralelnim bočnim žilama koje se pružaju prema zadebljalom rubu lista. Cvjetovi su jednospolni i peteročlani, skupljeni u pazušne ili vršne metlice. Ženski cvjetovi imaju kuglastu jednopretinastu plodnicu, tri vrata i glavaste njuške.
