Sphaerodactylus è un genere di sauro insettivoro appartenente all'infraordine Gekkota.
Caratterizzati principalmente dalle piccole dimensioni e dagli occhi indipendenti, sono Endemici e presenti in tutte le Americhe. Benché vi siano tra i membri specie che, tra le più grandi, arrivano alla lunghezza di circa (S. dimorphicus e S. torrei), Sphaerodactylus annovera quelle che sono considerate i più minuti gechi mai scoperti al Mondo, ovvero S. ariasae, descritta per la prima volta da Hedges & Thomas nel 2001, e S. parthonopion, che raggiungono una lunghezza di soli .
