Biografia Detenne l'American Heavyweight Championship in tre occasioni agli inizi del XX secolo. Il 4 maggio 1905 al Madison Square Garden, lottò contro Georg Hackenschmidt per il neonato World Catch-as-Catch-Can Championship, ma fu sconfitto. In seguito insegnò presso l'Accademia militare degli Stati Uniti a West Point (1905-1942) e dal 1912 al 1943 insegnò anche wrestling e boxe presso la New York Military Academy a Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York; uno dei suoi allievi fu John Thomas Corley.
